may the road rise up to meet you

four more days in third grade. i will be very sad to leave the wonderful children, but very happy to leave this teacher. "teacher". in a month, we have never witnessed an actual lesson. she gives them worksheet after worksheet, and so on. i feel terrible for these kids. at least when we are teaching them, we make the lessons interesting. we did a great underground railroad lesson the other day. tomorrow - rosa parks. the class is very well behaved and interested in learning. i just don't think they learn much from this teacher. on our last day, we get to go on a field trip with the class. this should be great!

i bought great children's literature today. there is a book fair at the school! i was quite happy about this. it truly is the little things in life.

things here are average. i'm not happy, but i'm not terribly unhappy either. it's a nice balance right now. s is at a meeting, kids are quiet upstairs. i enjoy quiet time.

i'm still mourning the loss of ace on idol, but i'm sure i'll still be happy to watch the show tomorrow.

the poland trip is getting closer. i'm really looking forward to that. a lot. the house that we will be working on is for an amazing mother and daughter. it will be two weeks filled with hard work and joy. we will be there in less than two months.

i talked to my first grade teacher the other day. she is one of the main reasons why i want to teach. she just needed to know that. we chatted for about an hour and i am going to go and visit her classroom sometime next month. it will be great! her voice took me back 24 years.

ah, memories. and random thoughts.
