beautiful snowy day here. it's still the time of year when i enjoy the snow. in february, i will hate it. but the before christmas snow is lovely. unfortunately, i do have to go out in it in a bit. i have a doctor's appointment that is about 15 minutes away. i just hope the crazy drivers are home while i'm on the road. i don't worry about my driving, just theirs.

classes are over! hooray! i have exams next week, but i'm really not worried about those. maybe i should be, but i'm just not caring too much. i have a paper to write over the weekend, but i think i will enjoy that. it has to be about the novels and short stories we have read in my english class. i can pick any topic, so it should be an easy paper to write. i will begin my block semester in january and i will student teach next fall. i'm almost there! i'm really ready to teach. i am very excited about this.

i didn't get to work with the homeschool kids this morning because of the snow. next week is the last week i will be working with them. it has been such a wonderful experience watching them grow in their reading abilities. they have changed as readers, and this is a great thing for me to see. it encourages me as a future teacher.

our dear friend, clara, had a fall and is not doing well. she is 97 years old. she is the most amazing woman i've ever known. i always say that i want to be her when i grow up. she has a lovely heart. in my selfishness, i want her to stay here with us, but i know that she is ready to go on to her next life. i will miss her very much.

kids are at their mom's this weekend. woo hoo! i think we'll go out tonight or tomorrow. a date, can you imagine? if it keeps snowing, maybe we'll just stay home and watch movies and have some beers. either one sounds very enjoyable.

i need to go and get ready for my doctor's appointment. i need to get a referral to get allergy shots because we are getting a kitty. i'm happy about this, but i don't want to die from not being able to breathe. :) and i also need to get a physical for school. and a tb test. yuck.
